MUW Alumni Association 2010-2011 Elections
2010-2011 elections to the Board of Directors have been completed. The following slate of officers
has been approved by voting members of the Association.
Those elected to the Board for a three-year term are:
Mark Box, Class of 1996, Columbus, Mississippi
Mary Ann Sadka Petro, Class of 1968, Jackson, Mississippi
Barbara Whitaker Smith, Class of 1955, Jackson, Mississippi
Dawn Powell Woo, Class of 1987, Cleveland, Mississippi
Those elected to the Board for a second three-year term are:
Becky Tate Cade, Class of 1976, Jackson, Mississippi
Renee Nick Flynt, Class of 1981, Jackson, Mississippi
Irene Turner Guthrie, Class of 1980, Port Gibson, Mississippi
Kimberly Triplett, Class of 1997, Starkville, Mississippi
MUW Pohl/Stark Recreation Center Alumni Association Membership Discount
The MUW Pohl/Stark Recreation Center is offering a 20% discount on new or renewed membership fees for
alumni who are members of the MUW Alumni Association. We are delighted to work with the Recreation
Center staff to provide this benefit for Association members in the area and appreciate the staff’s support of the
Association. For more information on the Pohl/Stark Recreation Center and opportunities available for individual and
family memberships, please visit http://www.muw.edu/recreation/index.html. To receive your 20% Alumni Association
membership discount, the Alumni Office must verify your membership in the Association as part of your Pohl/Stark
Recreation Center registration. When registering, please ask the Recreation Center staff to verify your Alumni Association

MUW Alumni Association Past President Renee Nick Flynt '81 Honored
During the June 26, 2009, meeting of the MUW Alumni Association Board of Directors, Renee Flynt was recognized for her past service as president. In appreciation for her leadership, she was presented with a watercolor print of the front campus. Pictured below are Pat Ainsworth, M.D.,'70, current president (left), and Renee Flynt (right).
